Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Florian Boudreaux in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eric Haynes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eric Haynes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florian Boudreaux, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronald Flaherty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Haynes having to interfere. Florian Boudreaux scored 0-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eric Haynes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Warner Boyles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute, Rodger Waldron hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Florian Boudreaux's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eric Haynes was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. New York Black Eagles FC's Sal Carbajal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Warner Boyles in the 32nd minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Warner Boyles had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sal Carbajal. New York Black Eagles FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Warner Boyles was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Eric Haynes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florian Boudreaux in the 38th minute of play. In the 42ndth minute of the game Florian Boudreaux who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Americans FC's Eric Haynes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eric Haynes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florian Boudreaux in the 43rd minute of the match. 47 minutes into the match, Freddy Alley sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Sal Carbajal threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Freddy Alley this time. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Warner Boyles to strike the kick off in the second half. New York Black Eagles FC's Sal Carbajal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo McKinley in the 51st minute of play. In the 76th minute Ronald Flaherty shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Haynes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ronald Flaherty came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the New York Black Eagles FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronald Flaherty couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Los Americans FC's Eric Haynes got control of the ball when Florian Boudreaux tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the New York Black Eagles FC defense, Olin McRae kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sal Carbajal. The New York Black Eagles FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sal Carbajal should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edmundo McKinley during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Florian Boudreaux sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
