Copenhagen FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 9th minute, when Ralph Stiles scored to the left of an out of position Dana Lester, making the score, 1-0. After a rather tough play, Copenhagen FC's Randell Light got a free kick in the 13th minute. Ralph Stiles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Dana Lester tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 25 minutes, Trevor Bernstein managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Copenhagen FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trevor Bernstein was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Copenhagen FC booed when Philladelphia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brett Manley didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 31 minutes, Wes Connelly managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. When Eldon Cisneros fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Philladelphia FC's protests and gave Eldon Cisneros a yellow card for diving instead. Eldon Cisneros kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Copenhagen FC's Randell Light got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Trevor Bernstein in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Warren Ransom saved Philladelphia FC from getting behind. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Copenhagen FC's goalkeeper Dana Lester, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ralph Stiles struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Dana Lester didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Philladelphia FC. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Randell Light to make the kick off. Wes Connelly recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dana Lester showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ray Melvin in the 61st minute of the match. The Philladelphia FC fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when Philladelphia FC's Ralph Stiles looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 68th minute, Brett Manley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ray Melvin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dana Lester having to interfere. Warren Ransom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Randell Light, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Randell Light had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wes Connelly fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dana Lester having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wes Connelly in the 86th minute of play forced Copenhagen FC's goalkeeper Dana Lester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute, Ray Melvin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Trevor Bernstein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Warren Ransom having to interfere. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Philladelphia FC's goalkeeper Warren Ransom, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Philladelphia FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Copenhagen FC for a fine match.
