Rufus Bryant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gualterio Aguirre, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Valentim Leão struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Rufus Bryant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Patoruzu. Marcelo-Luis Butcher could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Rufus Bryant made a huge save. In the 19thth minute of the game Gualterio Aguirre who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Green Machine's Rufus Bryant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 23rd minute of the match Jimmy Helberg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aldo Hawk showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 26 minutes Green Machine's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Willie Staton who took care of the corner kick. Gualterio Aguirre made a great header on Atlético Patoruzu's corner, it was just that Green Machine's Rufus Bryant managed to reach the ball for a save. Gualterio Aguirre who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Rufus Bryant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Atlético Patoruzu booed when Green Machine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

A nice corner shot did that Willie Staton got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rufus Bryant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gualterio Aguirre in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rufus Bryant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gualterio Aguirre in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rufus Bryant saved Green Machine from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Green Machine's zone, Valentim Leão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rufus Bryant came out of the goal and Valentim Leão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 66 minutes, Troy Croft mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Green Machine and the Atlético Patoruzu players grew even worse after the yellow card. Troy Croft kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gualterio Aguirre in the 67th minute of play forced Green Machine's goalkeeper Rufus Bryant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rufus Bryant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valentim Leão's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. When Atlético Patoruzu's Gualterio Aguirre in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Rufus Bryant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Wesley Daniel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aldo Hawk having to interfere. After 95 played minutes Green Machine got a freekick which was hit by Emmanuel Doherty. Gualterio Aguirre struck a weak shot in the 96th minute.
