Spectators: 8477 (Terracing: 6359, Seating: 1949, VIP seats: 169) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Theron Street took the kick off in the first half of the match. The Banfield FI fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Banfield FI's Quinton Rivers looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 8th minute Theron Street shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Markus Bachman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Scum Utd's zone, Quinton Rivers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tom Kyle came out of the goal and Quinton Rivers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Quinton Rivers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Quinton Rivers who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Tom Kyle when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 26th minute, Virgilio Cowan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Theron Street in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Markus Bachman saved Banfield FI from getting behind. Theron Street received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Markus Bachman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Markus Bachman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Everett Burke, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Tom Kyle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quinton Rivers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the match, Banfield FI's goal looked a bit too open when Marshall Branch came free, but Markus Bachman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Len McAllister hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. When Staffan Kämpe came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Banfield FI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Staffan Kämpe couldn't finish the play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Quinton Rivers made a kick off. After 51 played minutes Banfield FI got a freekick which was hit by Maurício Roriz. 52 minutes into the match, Banfield FI's goalkeeper Markus Bachman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Theron Street. Markus Bachman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theron Street in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Loren Roy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Quinton Rivers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tom Kyle having to interfere. Banfield FI were furious when Matthew Dotson was red carded, 59 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Banfield FI fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 59th minute. Penalty! Sterling Otero placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Scum Utd's Tom Kyle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Quinton Rivers in the 63rd minute of play. 65 minutes into the game, Staffan Kämpe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Tom Kyle was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Banfield FI's Quinton Rivers in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Scum Utd's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Banfield FI's Virgilio Cowan got a free kick in the 71st minute. Tom Kyle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leon Ledochowski in the 77th minute of the match. Marshall Branch scored 2-1 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Markus Bachman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Virgilio Cowan made in the 84th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Elequemedo Vinambres. Tom Kyle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Quinton Rivers's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. After a rather tough play, Banfield FI's Staffan Kämpe got a free kick in the 88th minute. Markus Bachman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eldon Potts in the 90th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Quinton Rivers in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tom Kyle saved Scum Utd from getting behind. Scum Utd's Tom Kyle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Ledochowski in the 95th minute of play. The supporters of Scum Utd booed when Banfield FI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amancio Azubeli didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97th minute of the match Sterling Otero sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Markus Bachman skillfully saved the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Banfield FI fans cheered their team off the field, for while Scum Utd had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
