Seating: 2156, VIP seats: 186) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Sidney Forbes took the kick off in the first half of the match. Aníbal Lorenzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kerry Sellers in the 5th minute of the match. After 6 minutes The Team FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eric Snowden who took care of the corner kick. The corner led C. A. Independiente's Alfredo Felder to fire away a dangerous shot which Aníbal Lorenzi despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Aníbal Lorenzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kerry Sellers, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 14 minutes into the match, The Team FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Aníbal Lorenzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cao Shi Yi in the 16th minute of play forced C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Farid Mondragón to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kerry Sellers in the 20th minute of play forced The Team FC's goalkeeper Aníbal Lorenzi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aníbal Lorenzi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kerry Sellers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Shelton Flanagan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Team FC's Aníbal Lorenzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kerry Sellers in the 34th minute of play. Shelton Flanagan struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Farid Mondragón didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Team FC. The supporters of The Team FC booed when C. A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Gustafson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kerry Sellers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Aníbal Lorenzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute Kerry Sellers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aníbal Lorenzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, Kerry Sellers ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aníbal Lorenzi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cao Shi Yi to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, The Team FC's Raul Bowen got a free kick in the 54th minute. 60 minutes into the match, The Team FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Aníbal Lorenzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. C. A. Independiente were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after The Team FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tommie Bolton took the corner. C. A. Independiente's Tommie Bolton was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Aníbal Lorenzi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Aníbal Lorenzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerry Sellers in the 70th minute of play. The supporters of The Team FC booed when C. A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudio Marangoni didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Team FC's Eduardo Navarro was substituted for Krisztián Újfalussy. After a rather tough play, C. A.
