Bryant Miles was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dale Kirkpatrick showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Gines in the 11th minute of play forced University of Rochester's goalkeeper Drew Casey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
