Lucien Hardin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Quinn Bisaillon in the 3rd minute of play. Murray Goldman's late challenge caught a Peterborough FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Murray Goldman helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Veteran getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Murray Goldman hit a great ball. In the 14th minute, François Meza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Veteran's Gerardo Reeves got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thierry Shah scored 0-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Guy Huntley, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Thierry Shah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute of the match, Quinn Bisaillon tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Lucien Hardin saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Gerardo Reeves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 36th minute, Thierry Shah got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerardo Reeves in the 38th minute of play forced Peterborough FC's goalkeeper Guy Huntley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gerardo Reeves was the one to do the kick off. Lyman Carignan kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Alfonso Lépicier kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. In the 55th minute Deshawn Rock managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. An unexpected shot in the 58th minute by Thierry Shah got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Veteran's Gerardo Reeves got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 67th minute Gerardo Reeves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guy Huntley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Quinn Bisaillon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Lucien Hardin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Veteran's Hong Deblois got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 73 minutes into the match, Veteran's goal looked a bit too open when Quinn Bisaillon came free, but Lucien Hardin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Veteran getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Ignacio Gomes hit a great ball. After 75 played minutes, Peterborough FC's Donat Taylor shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lucien Hardin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Peterborough FC reached it. Donat Taylor kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. When Gerardo Reeves came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Veteran fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerardo Reeves couldn't finish the play. Thierry Shah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Guy Huntley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Heriberto Sauvé's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lucien Hardin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Heriberto Sauvé fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucien Hardin having to interfere.
