Santiago Eldridge yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. A collision led to Toronto AFC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Valentin Salazar hit a great ball. Nigel Trujillo kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Benjamin Whitmore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Hong Rosen fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Toronto AFC's protests and gave Hong Rosen a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute, Hong Rosen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Toronto AFC's zone, Fabien Salgado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santiago Eldridge came out of the goal and Fabien Salgado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jed Pickett fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Toronto AFC's protests and gave Jed Pickett a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Toronto AFC's Jed Pickett got a free kick in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Monte Dougherty made the kick off in the second half. Rodger Hendrickson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodger Hendrickson in the 94th minute of play forced Toronto AFC's goalkeeper Santiago Eldridge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
