Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Gérard Dionne came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Nova Scotias Finest fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gérard Dionne couldn't finish the play. In the 28th minute, Nova Scotias Finest's Gérard Dionne ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gordon Dean. Gordon Dean yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Gordon Dean made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gérard Dionne in the 30th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Sayabec's goal looked a bit too open when Gérard Dionne came free, but Gordon Dean reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Merlin Sellers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Gordon Dean tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 38 minutes, Clyde Smith made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Nova Scotias Finest's Xavier Webb tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Merlin Sellers kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Xavier Webb took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolphe Tipton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clyde Smith in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Xavier Webb prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adolphe Tipton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sayabec's Gordon Dean played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gérard Dionne in the 59th minute of play. Hai Hand hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. After 62 played minutes, Nova Scotias Finest's Elton Livingston shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gordon Dean came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Nova Scotias Finest reached it. Clyde Smith could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Xavier Webb made a huge save. When Arnulfo Moyer fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nova Scotias Finest's protests and gave Arnulfo Moyer a yellow card for diving instead. In the 67th match minute, Nova Scotias Finest was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnulfo Moyer to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Nova Scotias Finest getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Arnulfo Moyer hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Clyde Smith could shoot a difficult shot in the 90th minute, which Xavier Webb however easily saved by the left post.
