Gonzalo Berdugo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Irinel Tatomir, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Fernando Abar could shoot a difficult shot in the 16th minute, which Tarzan De la Cuadra however easily saved by the left post. In the 20th match minute, Sporting Cristal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mino Abellaneda to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leons Spickiņš in the 22nd minute of play forced Sporting Cristal's goalkeeper Gonzalo Berdugo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Hiumboys FC's Tarzan De la Cuadra got control of the ball when Fernando Abar tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Irinel Tatomir's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gonzalo Berdugo was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. After taking down the ball on Sporting Cristal's corner Fernando Abar fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tarzan De la Cuadra quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of Sporting Cristal booed when Hiumboys FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Irinel Tatomir didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The wind increased when Irinel Tatomir made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Hiumboys FC getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Paavo Václavek hit a great ball. In the 61st minute, Hiumboys FC's Leons Spickiņš ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gonzalo Berdugo. Gonzalo Berdugo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. Paavo Václavek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Hiumboys FC's Leons Spickiņš slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gonzalo Berdugo. That made the score 0-6 after 68 minutes of play. Tarzan De la Cuadra didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fernando Abar went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-6 was the resulting score. After 79 played minutes Sporting Cristal got a freekick which was hit by Mino Abellaneda. Irinel Tatomir could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Gonzalo Berdugo made a huge save. In the 85th match minute, Hiumboys FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejandro Nesta to maneuver through the defense. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
