After 6 minutes of play, El Pulpo Paceño's Aristides Lluc made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stéphane Brault was left in no man's land by his defense there! El Pulpo Paceño's Nicanor Ascencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Feyyaz Erol in the 14th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's Sergio Millan got a free kick in the 20th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cordera Abella in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicanor Ascencio saved El Pulpo Paceño from getting behind. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Feyyaz Erol sped through El Pulpo Paceño's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nicanor Ascencio. In the 32nd minute Maicon Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stéphane Brault saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramon Centurión in the 37th minute of play forced El Pulpo Paceño's goalkeeper Nicanor Ascencio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Svetoslav Genkov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

53 minutes into the match, Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's goal looked a bit too open when Svetoslav Genkov came free, but Stéphane Brault reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 61 played minutes El Pulpo Paceño got a freekick which was hit by Kamil Glik. Nicanor Ascencio came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's Ramon Centurión. But to his dismay, Ramon Centurión quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. El Pulpo Paceño made a substitution. Christobal Abecia replaced Idacio Abecia. In the 72nd match minute, Pepsi Fuchibol Clu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ermengol Abaurre to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Ramon Centurión left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pepsi Fuchibol Clu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Stéphane Brault showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aristides Lluc in the 80th minute of the match. Cordera Abella received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Nicanor Ascencio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
