Spectators: 10850 (Terracing: 8139, Seating: 2495, VIP seats: 216) Sporting Cristal's Fernando Abar started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. El Pulpo Paceño's Nicanor Ascencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Abar in the 9th minute of play. Gonzalo Berdugo came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by El Pulpo Paceño's Aristides Lluc. But to his dismay, Aristides Lluc quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristides Lluc in the 16th minute of play forced Sporting Cristal's goalkeeper Gonzalo Berdugo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gonzalo Berdugo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Svetoslav Genkov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A nice corner shot did that Kamil Glik got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gonzalo Berdugo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gonzalo Berdugo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aristides Lluc, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 35 minutes into the match, Sporting Cristal's goal looked a bit too open when Svetoslav Genkov came free, but Gonzalo Berdugo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute, Joseph Lockwood hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Celino Abeijon hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. 39 minutes into the match, Sedeni Abellaneda notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of El Pulpo Paceño's Nicanor Ascencio. Nicanor Ascencio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 42ndth minute of the game Aristides Lluc who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sporting Cristal's Gonzalo Berdugo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aristides Lluc in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gonzalo Berdugo saved Sporting Cristal from getting behind. When Mino Abellaneda fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting Cristal's protests and gave Mino Abellaneda a yellow card for diving instead. Mino Abellaneda hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute of the match Kamil Glik shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gonzalo Berdugo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Sporting Cristal's goal looked a bit too open when Maicon Borges came free, but Gonzalo Berdugo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aristides Lluc to strike the kick off in the second half. Sporting Cristal's Gonzalo Berdugo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Svetoslav Genkov in the 55th minute of play. In the 83rd minute Svetoslav Genkov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonzalo Berdugo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Svetoslav Genkov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oskarbi Abancens might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicanor Ascencio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oskarbi Abancens ran back to his position shaking his head. Nicanor Ascencio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernando Abar's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Cristal's zone, Aristides Lluc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gonzalo Berdugo came out of the goal and Aristides Lluc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
