The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Peñarol's Hernan Izaga got a free kick in the 10th minute. Barry Irvin had several of the Peñarol's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 11 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Sabino Chinchetru as he didn't even see the shot coming. Jorge Pais struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Sabino Chinchetru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Trouville de Fútbol. Hernan Izaga took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Felix Fariñas. Club Trouville de Fútbol's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 26thth minute of the game Nevada Videgaray who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Trouville de Fútbol's Felix Fariñas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 27th minute, Gabriel Dalmases had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Gar Montanez's late challenge caught a Peñarol's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gar Montanez helped the player get up and apologised. After 28 played minutes Club Trouville de Fútbol got a freekick which was hit by Gar Montanez. Jorge Pais sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mogel Soberon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Sabino Chinchetru made a huge save. Mazuste Lamota sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th minute, Mazuste Lamota got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mazuste Lamota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Felix Fariñas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Barry Irvin was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Club Trouville de Fútbol's Barry Irvin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sabino Chinchetru made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. When Mogel Soberon came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Club Trouville de Fútbol fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mogel Soberon couldn't finish the play. Mazuste Lamota could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Felix Fariñas made a huge save. Felix Fariñas was a little too slow when Mazuste Lamota got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 62nd minute. The score was now 3-3. Jorge Pais received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Sabino Chinchetru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Barry Irvin got free in front of the goal in the 80th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Sabino Chinchetru was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Sabino Chinchetru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mogel Soberon in the 85th minute of play. After 88 played minutes Peñarol got a freekick which was hit by Garcia Morejon. In the 91st minute Barry Irvin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sabino Chinchetru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
