Spectators: 6716 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1716, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Fero Quiroz started the match with the kick off. Fero Quiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atletico Peñarol's goalkeeper Hug Rusoto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frances Troche during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Guayabos booed when Club Atletico Peñarol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frances Troche didn't get a good kick on the ball. Osoitz Albar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 15 minutes into the match, Guayabos's Osoitz Albar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hug Rusoto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fero Quiroz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hug Rusoto came out and tried to block the shot, but Fero Quiroz slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 16th minute. Jorrin Tezanos scored 1-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Americo Rujido, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Osoitz Albar's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Hug Rusoto firmly grabbed it by the left post. 34 minutes into the match, Guayabos's goal looked a bit too open when Cesaro Somalo came free, but Americo Rujido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fero Quiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Hug Rusoto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Derwin Oberto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th minute, Jorrin Tezanos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cesaro Somalo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Club Atletico Peñarol's Hug Rusoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osoitz Albar in the 54th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Osoitz Albar in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hug Rusoto saved Club Atletico Peñarol from getting behind. Osoitz Albar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 58th minute of the game. One of Club Atletico Peñarol:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Guayabos:s goal. In the 63rd minute, Osoitz Albar made a precise shot to the right of Hug Rusoto. Club Atletico Peñarol's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. A collision led to Club Atletico Peñarol getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Derwin Oberto hit a great ball. Fero Quiroz scored 5-1 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hug Rusoto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 75th minute, Derwin Oberto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 76 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Peñarol's goal looked a bit too open when Fero Quiroz came free, but Hug Rusoto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78th minute Fero Quiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hug Rusoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Guayabos getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Hori Armiñan hit a great ball. 82 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Peñarol's Lizardi Carda broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Jorrin Tezanos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Osoitz Albar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hug Rusoto having to interfere. Fero Quiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 99 minutes into the match, Osoitz Albar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hug Rusoto. Club Atletico Peñarol's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Osoitz Albar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1. Club Atletico Peñarol's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
