But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ruperto Salero couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Olivera AFC's zone, Mark Maliaño stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francho Figueruel came out of the goal and Mark Maliaño tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A hard shot 17 in the game by Sidoro Izmendi from a close distance when the talented Francho Figueruel managed to make a qualified save. Olivera AFC's players were relieved. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Mark Maliaño took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Francho Figueruel to make any attempt to save it. If Mark Maliaño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sidoro Izmendi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Francho Figueruel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 38 minutes, Sidoro Izmendi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castilla FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sidoro Izmendi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 40th match minute, Olivera AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heriberto Villazan to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Aires Boreyta from long distance, 44 minutes into the match, got Francho Figueruel's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sidoro Izmendi to make the kick off. Ruperto Salero's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Faustão Fantini firmly grabbed it by the left post. 55 minutes into the match, Mark Maliaño had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francho Figueruel. Olivera AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mark Maliaño was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. When Alberto Lorenzana fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olivera AFC's protests and gave Alberto Lorenzana a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sidoro Izmendi in the 64th minute of play forced Olivera AFC's goalkeeper Francho Figueruel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sidoro Izmendi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sidoro Izmendi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francho Figueruel having to interfere. When Sidoro Izmendi came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Castilla FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sidoro Izmendi couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Olivera AFC defense, Sidoro Izmendi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Francho Figueruel. The Olivera AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Francho Figueruel should have stopped the shot. After 80 played minutes Castilla FC got a freekick which was hit by Ramone Montemiuño. Norberto Montalvo lost his temper 83 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Castilla FC! Sidoro Izmendi hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Xamo Respaldizar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 94th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Faustão Fantini. Castilla FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
