The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. DEPORTIVO CALI's Victorino Mahns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Jáuregui in the 4th minute of play. Simón Infantas came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by DEPORTIVO CALI's Tomás Oquendo. But to his dismay, Tomás Oquendo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Fermín Recalde got a throw-in 10 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Niguel Estay. In the 10th match minute, Huenaliben was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Viktor De Hertoghe to maneuver through the defense. Bayron Sojo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Simón Infantas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bayron Sojo in the 16th minute of the match. Simón Infantas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilesindo De Ferari in the 25th minute of play. If Tomás Oquendo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victorino Mahns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Jáuregui, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. When Bayron Sojo came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the DEPORTIVO CALI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bayron Sojo couldn't finish the play. Victorino Mahns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuel Jáuregui in the 35th minute of the match. Heinz Sieben sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of DEPORTIVO CALI booed when Huenaliben was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Urquieta didn't get a good kick on the ball. The wind increased when Tomás Oquendo made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Gilesindo De Ferari hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Jáuregui in the 53rd minute of play forced DEPORTIVO CALI's goalkeeper Victorino Mahns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th minute, Bayron Sojo made a precise shot to the right of Simón Infantas. Huenaliben's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 59th match minute, DEPORTIVO CALI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danilo Alba to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute Tomás Oquendo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simón Infantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bayron Sojo got free with Simón Infantas in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Simón Infantas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás Oquendo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Huenaliben's Samuel Jáuregui in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Simón Infantas was out of position in the 92 minute of play, and Tomás Oquendo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tomás Oquendo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. The Huenaliben supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching DEPORTIVO CALI's performance. The match ended with a win for DEPORTIVO CALI.
