When Armandinho Cardoso fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Iaurete EC's protests and gave Armandinho Cardoso a yellow card for diving instead. After 95 played minutes Iaurete EC got a freekick which was hit by Armandinho Cardoso. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Evandro Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mancha Verde's supporters rose to their feet, but Evandro Andrade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romário Galvão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
