Maurício Meirelles who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of João Paulo Queirós when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Percival Pena made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maurício Meirelles in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Paulo Queirós prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Maurício Meirelles hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Dino de Toledo charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dino de Toledo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Jardim Lenize getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Dino de Toledo hit a great ball. Percival Pena's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juan Coutinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. After having played for 64 minutes, Maurício Meirelles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jardim Lenize's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maurício Meirelles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Leopoldo Ramalho came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Jardim Lenize fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leopoldo Ramalho couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Maurício Meirelles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jardim Lenize's supporters rose to their feet, but Maurício Meirelles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Paulo Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Jardim Lenize booed when Lindner F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Trindade didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Paulo Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurício Meirelles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes into the game, Luís Pinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jardim Lenize's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lindner F.C. the free kick. After 83 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. Dino de Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lindner F.C.'s João Paulo Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurício Meirelles in the 97th minute of play. Jardim Lenize's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
