Spectators: 7135 (Terracing: 5353, Seating: 1641, VIP seats: 141) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nuno Luz kicked off to start the match. After a rather tough play, AD River Plate's Dagoberto Neto got a free kick in the 4th minute. 5 minutes into the match, Cananea's Gilvan das Neves broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 8 minutes into the match, AD River Plate's goalkeeper Simão Penha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by César Domingues. Cléberson Terra kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Nuno Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cananea's supporters rose to their feet, but Nuno Luz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simão Penha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Yan de Godoi came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the AD River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yan de Godoi couldn't finish the play. Oswaldo Secco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oswaldo Secco in the 19th minute of play forced Cananea's goalkeeper Cícero Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moisés da Cunha charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Moisés da Cunha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 19th match minute, Cananea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Moisés da Cunha to maneuver through the defense. Cícero Martins came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by AD River Plate's Oswaldo Secco. But to his dismay, Oswaldo Secco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Nuno Luz succeeded in the game's 26th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. Oswaldo Secco scored 1-2 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cícero Martins, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cícero Martins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oswaldo Secco in the 43rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Cananea's zone, Oswaldo Secco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cícero Martins came out of the goal and Oswaldo Secco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oswaldo Secco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dagoberto Neto hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. César Domingues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão Penha having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Cananea's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Yan de Godoi fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Oswaldo Secco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Cícero Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cícero Martins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oswaldo Secco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 68 minutes, Oswaldo Secco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AD River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oswaldo Secco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cícero Martins was a little too slow when Oswaldo Secco got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 71st minute. The score was now 1-3. After 80 minutes, Aloísio Negri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cananea and the AD River Plate players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 80 played minutes Cananea got a freekick which was hit by Aloísio Negri. Cícero Martins made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Yan de Godoi sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Cananea's Cícero Martins got control of the ball when Yan de Godoi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Simão Penha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from César Domingues in the 96th minute of play. AD River Plate's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
