The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 10 minutes into the match, Davi Leite notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Berlengas's Rui de Castro. Rui de Castro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Romeu Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Jorginho Nogueira reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lu Gang Yun. The goal made the score 1-2. Berlengas's Rui de Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubens Baptista in the 27th minute of play. Davi Leite scored 1-3 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rui de Castro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rui de Castro came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Areiopolis SS's Davi Leite. But to his dismay, Davi Leite quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. After 41 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Areiopolis SS! Areiopolis SS:s Lu Gang Yun showed great skill when he stopped Barhart Ramsey:s penalty. After the first half Areiopolis SS were leading 2-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Berlengas's defense didn't have a chance, in the 59th minute, when Rubens Baptista scored to the left of an out of position Rui de Castro, making the score, 2-6. Cesinha Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lu Gang Yun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorginho Nogueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eugênio Oliveira, 67 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 68th match minute, Berlengas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcus Moura to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the game, Davi Leite cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-7. Rui de Castro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Areiopolis SS's Lu Gang Yun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorginho Nogueira in the 74th minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Areiopolis SS's goal looked a bit too open when Jorginho Nogueira came free, but Lu Gang Yun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute, Rubens Baptista reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rui de Castro. The goal made the score 2-8. Through an outstanding action, after 89 minutes, Rui de Castro successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 92 minutes into the match, Berlengas's goalkeeper Rui de Castro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Davi Leite. With an all-out effort, Areiopolis SS's Rui de Castro threw himself towards the right post 94 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rubens Baptista, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Rui de Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davi Leite, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
