In the 5th match minute, Damasio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei Paraíba to maneuver through the defense. Raimundo Brasil made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Joaquim Trancoso sent off a good shot on target. Juarês Nascimento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizinho Valle in the 16th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Antônio Carlos Schmidt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd minute Luizinho Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juarês Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. PSLO United were furious when Zé Carlos Saldanha was red carded, 25 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in PSLO United fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 24th minute. Penalty! Juarês Nascimento had in the 26thth minute some difficulties stopping Elano Sabóia's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Joaquim Trancoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimundo Brasil having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Damasio's zone, Ronaldão Dracena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raimundo Brasil came out of the goal and Ronaldão Dracena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rui Eger hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Joaquim Trancoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimundo Brasil having to interfere. When Joaquim Trancoso came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the PSLO United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquim Trancoso couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Joaquim Trancoso made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Claudinei Paraíba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Damasio's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudinei Paraíba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juarês Nascimento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 55 minutes into the match, PSLO United's goalkeeper Juarês Nascimento had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vitório da Fonseca. Raimundo Brasil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Trancoso in the 60th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Damasio's zone, Joaquim Trancoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raimundo Brasil came out of the goal and Joaquim Trancoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 91 minutes into the match, PSLO United's Antônio Carlos Schmidt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raimundo Brasil narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Juarês Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luizinho Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute.
