Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Erasmo Magalhães started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Henrique Couto charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Henrique Couto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Tijuca Juniors booed when Pompa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrique Couto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute, Erasmo Magalhães made a precise shot to the right of Sydney Ferreira. Tijuca Juniors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After having played for 11 minutes, Erasmo Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pompa FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erasmo Magalhães was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 15th minute Erik Macedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sydney Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erasmo Magalhães in the 20thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sydney Ferreira, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 26 minutes into the game, Pompa FC's Erasmo Magalhães nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sydney Ferreira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Vágner Pitta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geraldo Nascimento in the 29th minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Erasmo Magalhães had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sydney Ferreira. Tijuca Juniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Erasmo Magalhães was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. 37 minutes into the match, Tijuca Juniors's goalkeeper Sydney Ferreira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erasmo Magalhães. Sydney Ferreira was a little too slow when Erik Macedo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 5-0. Erasmo Magalhães could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Sydney Ferreira made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Tijuca Juniors's zone, Erik Macedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sydney Ferreira came out of the goal and Erik Macedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Erik Macedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Sydney Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Geraldo Nascimento made a kick off. When Erik Macedo came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Pompa FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erik Macedo couldn't finish the play. Erasmo Magalhães blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sydney Ferreira having to make a save. In the 58th minute, Erik Macedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 60 minutes into the match, Erasmo Magalhães notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Tijuca Juniors's Sydney Ferreira. Sydney Ferreira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sydney Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erasmo Magalhães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In a very dangerous position, a player in Tijuca Juniors fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 67th minute. Penalty! In the 68th minute there was a penalty for Pompa FC. Henrique Couto stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Sydney Ferreira. 7-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erasmo Magalhães in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sydney Ferreira saved Tijuca Juniors from getting behind. In the 73rd match minute, Tijuca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmundo Silva to maneuver through the defense. Tijuca Juniors's Sydney Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erasmo Magalhães in the 78th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erik Macedo in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sydney Ferreira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 87th minute, Erasmo Magalhães left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pompa FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. Sidney Cardozo struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Sydney Ferreira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pompa FC. Gilson Dionísio kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. In the 97th minute, Edmundo Silva reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vágner Pitta. The goal made the score 8-1. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Pompa FC had played much better football throughout.
