Kaká Baptista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitinho Vianna, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. In the 13th minute, Vitinho Vianna ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kaká Baptista was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 24 minutes into the match, Parai's goal looked a bit too open when Elano Tavares came free, but Kaká Baptista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Parai's zone, Henrique Severo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kaká Baptista came out of the goal and Henrique Severo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute Vitinho Vianna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kaká Baptista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vitinho Vianna scored 0-2 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kaká Baptista, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Vitinho Vianna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the game, Augusto Tasso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Parai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bahia SS the free kick.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vitinho Vianna stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Arí Proença managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Parai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arí Proença was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gabriel Leal during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 53rd match minute, Parai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Leal to maneuver through the defense. During the 69th minute of the match Gabriel Leal completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Gabriel Leal a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Parai getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Gabriel Leal hit a great ball. In the 79th minute, Wilson da Costa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Parai fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Bahia SS's Hugo Damião played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilson da Costa in the 85th minute of play. If Henrique Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kaká Baptista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitinho Vianna in the 94th minute of play. Parai's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Vitinho Vianna 96 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-3. When the match was over Bahia SS could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Parai throughout the match.
