Sérgio Lisboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guga Souto in the 52nd minute of play. Cleiton Massa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edu Lopez's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. After a rather tough play, Sport Club Francana's Cafu da Silveira got a free kick in the 56th minute. If Mané Netto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aníbal Rossi charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aníbal Rossi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Silmarils's Arnaldo Rodrigues was substituted for Edu Lopez. Gio Ostermann walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 72 minutes into the match, Zé Paulo Marquez dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cleiton Massa, 0-4. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Silmarils walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
