Clube Atlético Riviera's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Wanderson Neto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thiago Correia. Nexus Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wanderson Neto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. When Adriano da Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Clube Atlético Riviera fans jumped to their feet. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adriano da Rocha in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thiago Correia saved Nexus Club from getting behind. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adriano da Rocha was the one to do the kick off. Wanderson Neto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thiago Correia having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Nexus Club's zone, Adriano da Rocha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Correia came out of the goal and Adriano da Rocha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 54 minutes, Wanderson Neto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube Atlético Riviera's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wanderson Neto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adriano da Rocha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago Correia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Thiago Correia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adriano da Rocha in the 59th minute. The audience was convinced that Adriano da Rocha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Correia was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. 67 minutes into the game, Magno Paraense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
