After having played for 12 minutes, Marquinhos Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Junior fresh prince FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marquinhos Rodrigues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cipriano Mattos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Marcelo Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Junior fresh prince FC's Marcelo Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cipriano Mattos in the 27th minute of play. In the 38th minute Marquinhos Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Eduardo Torres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Junior fresh prince FC's Marcelo Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cipriano Mattos in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cipriano Mattos in the 43rd minute of play forced Junior fresh prince FC's goalkeeper Marcelo Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Junior fresh prince FC's Raí Paiva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luiz Eduardo Torres narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelo Correia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cipriano Mattos in the 63rd minute of the match. Aílton da Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Correia having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Raí Paiva put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Luiz Eduardo Torres. In the 79th minute, Zé Roberto França hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cipriano Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cícero de Queirós hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. The Junior fresh prince FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
