Geovânio Godoi made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Umberto Bezerra sent off a good shot on target. Umberto Bezerra was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 17th minute. America Football C. U21's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Sanharo's Dito Leal got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sílvio Luís Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaltino da Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anselmo Perez hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. A collision led to America Football C. U21 getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Umberto Bezerra hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Sanharo's Cláudio Vasconcelos got a free kick in the 35th minute. Sílvio Luís Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laércio Neiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute, Anselmo Perez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Laércio Neiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 47 played minutes Sanharo got a freekick which was hit by Isaltino da Rocha. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Laércio Neiva was the one to do the kick off. After 55 minutes, Cláudio Vasconcelos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sanharo and the America Football C. U21 players grew even worse after the yellow card. Umberto Bezerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute Umberto Bezerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovânio Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Dito Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th match minute, Sanharo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cláudio Vasconcelos to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Luís Fábio Capixaba sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sanharo's Geovânio Godoi didn't even have to move. An unexpectedly hard shot by Umberto Bezerra in the 77th minute of play forced Sanharo's goalkeeper Geovânio Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, one of America Football C. U21:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for America Football C. U21. The goalkeeper, Sílvio Luís Luz, was totally fooled by Sanharo's Cláudio Vasconcelos, who 89 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Anselmo Perez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovânio Godoi having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
