Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Valdir do Valle took the kick off in the first half of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Juvenal Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alta's supporters rose to their feet, but Juvenal Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laerte Prestes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 5th minute, Valdir do Valle left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Alta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Pedro de Salles hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdir do Valle in the 11th minute of play forced Anelio's goalkeeper Laerte Prestes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elói Vaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anísio Goiano in the 13th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anísio Goiano in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elói Vaz saved Alta from getting behind. 22 minutes into the game, Anelio's Anísio Goiano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elói Vaz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After some careless play in the Anelio defense, Ronaldo Martins kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Laerte Prestes. The Anelio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Laerte Prestes should have stopped the shot. Laerte Prestes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juvenal Fonseca in the 31st minute. Pedro Luís Vander recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 35 minutes into the match, Anísio Goiano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elói Vaz. Alta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anísio Goiano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. In the 38th minute, Alta's Júnior Correia dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-2. In the 43rd minute Valdir do Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laerte Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Anelio's goal looked a bit too open when Valdir do Valle came free, but Laerte Prestes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro de Salles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Laerte Prestes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Elói Vaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Dantas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 53 minutes, Anísio Goiano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Anelio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anísio Goiano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 56th minute Valdir do Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laerte Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Flávio do Vale during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Anelio booed when Alta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flávio do Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anísio Goiano in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elói Vaz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Anelio's Flavinho Moraes got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
