Délio Moreira made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Gil Cordeiro sent off a good shot on target. Uberaba FC's Dário Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitinho Gomes in the 33rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Uberaba FC's Zé Carlos de Sousa got a free kick in the 34th minute. Zé Carlos de Sousa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ismael de Queirós took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Délio Moreira. Délio Moreira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1.

After 51 minutes, Gil Cordeiro made it 6-1 with a short kick to the right side. Serra Talhada FC's Délio Moreira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Serra Talhada FC defense, Zé Carlos de Sousa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Délio Moreira. The Serra Talhada FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Délio Moreira should have stopped the shot. 62 minutes into the game, Joélson Ramalho threw the ball into play from the sideline. Uberaba FC's Ismael de Queirós quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Délio Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavinho Carneiro in the 63rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavinho Carneiro in the 86th minute of play forced Serra Talhada FC's goalkeeper Délio Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 89 minutes, Zé Carlos de Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uberaba FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Carlos de Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 90th minute, Walmyr Viana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Délio Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavinho Carneiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Gil Cordeiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Délio Moreira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gil Cordeiro ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Serra Talhada FC's Walmyr Viana got a free kick in the 94th minute. Serginho Meirelles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Délio Moreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
