The audience was convinced that Enio Tande's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chicão Diniz was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. When Enio Tande came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Carvalhos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enio Tande couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Acude SC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Luciano de Azevedo hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nando Toledo got free with Chicão Diniz in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 12 minutes, Laerte Fernandez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Acude SC and the Carvalhos players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Amauri Secco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carvalhos's supporters rose to their feet, but Amauri Secco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chicão Diniz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th minute, Enio Tande got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Amauri Secco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carvalhos's Natã Mangueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomás Guimarães in the 26th minute of play. When Luciano de Azevedo was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 34 minutes had been played. A collision led to Acude SC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Luciano de Azevedo hit a great ball. When Armandinho Maciel fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Acude SC's protests and gave Armandinho Maciel a yellow card for diving instead. Nando Toledo shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Benjamim Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natã Mangueira having to interfere. If Nando Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Benjamim Moura to strike the kick off in the second half. If Thomás Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maicon Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Amauri Secco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chicão Diniz having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Enio Tande in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Chicão Diniz saved Acude SC from getting behind. Acude SC's Thomás Guimarães got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 80 minutes of play Acude SC's Laerte Fernandez was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 81st match minute, Acude SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laerte Fernandez to maneuver through the defense. Amauri Secco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 85 minutes into the match, Amauri Secco notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Acude SC's Chicão Diniz. Chicão Diniz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 89th minute, Benjamim Moura got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Enio Tande in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chicão Diniz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benjamim Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Natã Mangueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carvalhos walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
