Clube Atlético Canhoba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Narciso Prata was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aílton Saraiva charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aílton Saraiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Clube Atlético Canhoba booed when Cacaroca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aílton Saraiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Richard Linares made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Narciso Prata sent off a good shot on target. After the first half Cacaroca were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulão da Rocha to make the kick off. After 56 minutes of play Cacaroca's Aílton Saraiva was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Aílton Saraiva hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Túlio Vianna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredão Lara having to interfere. Narciso Prata recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 64 played minutes Clube Atlético Canhoba got a freekick which was hit by Allan Valle. A collision led to Cacaroca getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Edmundo da Mata hit a great ball. It was a brilliant solo performance by Cacaroca's Manuel Peres when he shot the ball into the net to 0-3 in the 87th minute. Manuel Peres fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 93rd minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball bounced in the crossbar and then went out. It was a very nice shot. Paulão da Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Clube Atlético Canhoba fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Cacaroca were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
