After a defensive mix-up in Bomba FC's zone, Eduardo Moreno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Betinho de Toledo came out of the goal and Eduardo Moreno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zé Arósio kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Erasmo Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valério Ferreira having to interfere. Bomba FC's Betinho de Toledo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Bomba FC from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After having played for 53 minutes, Edmundo Ramos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bomba FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Ramos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Betinho de Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Moreno in the 56th minute of the match. Betinho de Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júlio Miranda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Goias E. C. getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Zé Arósio hit a great ball. After 63 minutes of play, Goias E. C.'s Júlio Miranda made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Betinho de Toledo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 73rd minute, Téo Peixoto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eduardo Moreno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betinho de Toledo having to interfere. If Eduardo Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Goias E. C.. Valério Ferreira had in the 98thth minute some difficulties stopping Abelardo Coelho's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Vladimir Albuquerque hit a great freekick 99 minutes into the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Goias E. C. fully deserved thier win.
