Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Quarteis's Oscar Favoretto started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jefferson Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Favoretto in the 3rd minute of the match. 4 minutes into the match, Quarteis's Evaristo Abraão sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jefferson Santos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Brasilia's Carlos Eduardo Sousa got a free kick in the 7th minute. When Evaristo Abraão came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Quarteis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evaristo Abraão couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jarbas Pombal during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Quarteis getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Jarbas Pombal hit a great ball. After 19 played minutes Quarteis got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Mota. Brasilia's Carlos Fontes got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 24 minutes, Ronaldão Figueiredo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brasilia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronaldão Figueiredo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Norberto Cearense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Fontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Quarteis's Norberto Cearense got control of the ball when Ronaldão Figueiredo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ronaldão Figueiredo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Norberto Cearense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Brasilia's Carlos Fontes got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jefferson Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evaristo Abraão in the 38th minute of the match. Norberto Cearense made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Ronaldão Figueiredo sent off a good shot on target. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Fontes was the one to do the kick off. Quarteis's Norberto Cearense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldão Figueiredo in the 51st minute of play. Oscar Favoretto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Jefferson Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59thth minute of the game Carlos Fontes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Quarteis's Norberto Cearense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Quarteis getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Oscar Favoretto hit a great ball. Ronaldão Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69thth minute of the game Ronaldão Figueiredo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Quarteis's Norberto Cearense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Carlos Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norberto Cearense having to interfere. Ronaldão Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 77 minutes into the game, Raí Siqueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brasilia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Quarteis the free kick. In the 77th minute, Raí Siqueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oscar Favoretto in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jefferson Santos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Jarbas Pombal was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 80 minutes had been played. Jarbas Pombal kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. If Ronaldão Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute, Carlos Fontes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Norberto Cearense was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Quarteis's zone, Carlos Fontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norberto Cearense came out of the goal and Carlos Fontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Brasilia fans cheered their team off the field, for while Quarteis had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
