GHELMAN FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 17 played minutes Luiz Bernardo FC got a freekick which was hit by Tostão Salles. In the 19th match minute, Luiz Bernardo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedito Fernandes to maneuver through the defense. Hortêncio de Moraes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mauro Botelho having to make a save. Leonardo Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Paulo Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Hortêncio de Moraes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Mauro Botelho when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Mauro Botelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ezequiel Reis in the 29th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hortêncio de Moraes in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mauro Botelho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mauro Botelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hortêncio de Moraes in the 34th minute of play. Edu de Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Mauro Botelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Tostão Salles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mauro Botelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamim Vasconcelos in the 39th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hortêncio de Moraes in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mauro Botelho saved Luiz Bernardo FC from getting behind. 46 minutes into the game, Silas Vinhas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Luiz Bernardo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GHELMAN FC the free kick. Silas Vinhas hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Silas Vinhas to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Hortêncio de Moraes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mauro Botelho was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Luiz Bernardo FC's Edgard Britto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Leonardo Maranhense. That made the score 0-1 after 56 minutes of play. In the 71stth minute of the game Hortêncio de Moraes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Luiz Bernardo FC's Mauro Botelho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hortêncio de Moraes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Luiz Bernardo FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. João Paulo Mendes hit a great ball. Luiz Bernardo FC's Mauro Botelho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hortêncio de Moraes in the 85th minute of play. Diamantino Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
