The referee gave Buritizal a penalty, 38 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Amílton Brasil, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of EC São Gabriel's Lenílson de Andrade. 0-1. EC São Gabriel's Lenílson de Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elder Furtado in the 42nd minute of play. Cacá Pimenta's late challenge caught a EC São Gabriel's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jerônimo de Moraes to make the kick off. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lenílson de Andrade showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Adelino Lara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Buritizal's goalkeeper Alberto Alagoano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 91 minutes, Jerônimo de Moraes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the EC São Gabriel and the Buritizal players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jerônimo de Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
