After 4 minutes of play, Hawks's João Pedro Pirani made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edgar de Carvalho was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Lúcio Nóbrega came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the San Pauli FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lúcio Nóbrega couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Hawks getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Luciano Negri hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Hawks's zone, Kauan Lucas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jarbas Dias came out of the goal and Kauan Lucas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 1-1 became the score in the 30th minute when Lúcio Nóbrega elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Kauan Lucas struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Jarbas Dias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San Pauli FC. 43 minutes into the match, Hawks's João Pedro Pirani sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edgar de Carvalho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Through an outstanding action, after 53 minutes, Edgar de Carvalho successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Lúcio Nóbrega recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 61st minute Jarbas Barral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar de Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgar de Carvalho made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when João Pedro Pirani sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, San Pauli FC's Edu Pereira got a free kick in the 68th minute. The supporters of Hawks booed when San Pauli FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edu Pereira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kauan Lucas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Jarbas Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Pedro Pirani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar de Carvalho having to interfere. Jarbas Dias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kauan Lucas, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Kauan Lucas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Jarbas Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Pedro Pirani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar de Carvalho having to interfere. In the 88th match minute, Hawks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tião Falcão to maneuver through the defense. When San Pauli FC's Kauan Lucas in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hawks's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felippe Pinho during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The San Pauli FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. San Pauli FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
