After a rather tough play, Pedro II FC's André Luiz Souto got a free kick in the 10th minute. Enrique Matos took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Moisés das Neves. Moisés das Neves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Cristóvão Pombal hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. André Taffarel might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Moisés das Neves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. André Taffarel ran back to his position shaking his head. If Enrique Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 24 minutes, Cristóvão Pombal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pedro II FC and the Ravenclaw F. C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cristóvão Pombal hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. 25 minutes into the match, Ravenclaw F. C.'s Nelson da Silva broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Enrique Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. André Taffarel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moisés das Neves having to interfere. Moisés das Neves made an important save on a dangerous shot by André Taffarel in the 40th minute. Remo Prestes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gildo Marques, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gildo Marques stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Ravenclaw F. C. getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Kléberson Ortiz hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Pedro II FC's Mateus Soares got a free kick in the 52nd minute. When the match clock showed 56 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Enrique Matos sped through Pedro II FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Moisés das Neves. Moisés das Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Eduardo Ferreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Moisés das Neves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Enrique Matos went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Moisés das Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Matos in the 71st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Enrique Matos in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Moisés das Neves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gildo Marques was extremely unlucky when he, in the 77th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 83 minutes into the match, Pedro II FC's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Matos came free, but Moisés das Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If André Taffarel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 89 played minutes Pedro II FC got a freekick which was hit by André Luiz Souto. Pedro II FC's Moisés das Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Matos in the 90th minute of play. In the 91st match minute, Pedro II FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Eduardo Peixoto to maneuver through the defense.
