Cachoeira F.C's Lino Catarinense got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 13 minutes into the game, Pedro Teles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cachoeira F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uma do Piratas the free kick. Uma do Piratas's Juarês Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lino Catarinense in the 25th minute of play. Uma do Piratas's Juan de Castro got his second yellow card of the match in the 42nd minute. The referee ordered Juan de Castro off the ground.
