In the 30th minute Isaltino Ortiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmed Amri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, A.E. Promoon's goal looked a bit too open when Lúcio Gomes came free, but Ahmed Amri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ahmed Amri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lúcio Gomes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ahmed Amri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovanni Siqueira in the 37th minute of play. Júlio Munhoz kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. When Valdir Loureiro fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sambaqui's protests and gave Valdir Loureiro a yellow card for diving instead. After 45 played minutes Sambaqui got a freekick which was hit by Valdir Loureiro. After the first half Sambaqui were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Isaltino Secco hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. The supporters of Sambaqui booed when A.E. Promoon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. If Júlio Munhoz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
