Celso Fernandes dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Adhemar Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Eliseu Massa came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Geremeira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseu Massa couldn't finish the play. In the 18th minute Eliseu Massa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ricardo Cavalcante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseu Massa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Geremeira players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
