In the 20th minute, Afonsinho Soares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luisinho Dionísio was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 21st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 24th minute, Tadeu Saldanha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After taking down the ball on Jaraguá SC's corner Juvenal Rodrigues fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Frederico Meira quite easily take care of the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tadeu Saldanha to make the kick off. Dráuzio Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Diogo Lima made a huge save. Gláuber Moura might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diogo Lima. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gláuber Moura ran back to his position shaking his head. Ruy Mota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. The tension between the CORÍNTIOS E.C. and the Jaraguá SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 95 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for CORÍNTIOS E.C.!
