Águia Branca FC's José Novaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Coutinho in the 28th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Florianopolis Fc's zone, Benjamim de Lara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgar Luz came out of the goal and Benjamim de Lara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zé Paulo Sabóia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Luz having to interfere. If Alex Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 69 minutes in the game, Zé Paulo Sabóia fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Edgar Luz having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Jarbas de Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Águia Branca FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jarbas de Queiroz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alex Coutinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Águia Branca FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
