Pedro Paulo Pontes charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedro Paulo Pontes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the match had been going on for 17 minutes, KANDANGUS F.C's Caetano Arantes got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Simão de Souza. If Ciro Pena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Ciro Pena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Simão de Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severino Neiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mount Stones's zone, Emílio Dracena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simão de Souza came out of the goal and Emílio Dracena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adalberto Paraíba was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Mount Stones's goal looked a bit too open when Betinho de Medeiros came free, but Simão de Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ciro Pena received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Edinho Vergílio came out and tried to block the shot, but Ciro Pena slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 58th minute. If Adalberto Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edinho Vergílio was a little too slow when Ciro Pena got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 3-2. Hortêncio Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Emílio Dracena managed to get in a good position for a shot. KANDANGUS F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Emílio Dracena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simão de Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adalberto Paraíba in the 79th minute of play forced Mount Stones's goalkeeper Simão de Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the game, Hortêncio Figueiredo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Edinho Vergílio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Severino Neiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Simão de Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute Adalberto Paraíba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simão de Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Emílio Dracena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mount Stones's Simão de Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adalberto Paraíba in the 90th minute of play. If Hortêncio Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Mount Stones players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented KANDANGUS F.C from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
