Spectators: 7216 (Terracing: 5413, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomé Paraíba prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Curupira fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Curupira's Chiquinho Azevedo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Curupira getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. José Maria Antunes hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Gustavo Cordeiro in the 20th minute of play forced Curupira's goalkeeper Zé Augusto Valladares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute Raí Bezerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Augusto Valladares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, José Maria Antunes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Curupira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hoppe FC the free kick. The supporters of Hoppe FC booed when Curupira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Maria Antunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute of the match Waldir de Alcântara shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zé Augusto Valladares showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 26 minutes, Raí Bezerra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hoppe FC and the Curupira players grew even worse after the yellow card. Through an outstanding action, after 73 minutes, Zé Augusto Valladares successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.
