To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 84 minutes into the match, Mostardeiro Grêmio's goal looked a bit too open when Marcel Dantas came free, but Jorginho da Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Mostardeiro Grêmio's zone, Luís Fabiano Proença stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorginho da Cunha came out of the goal and Luís Fabiano Proença tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Marcel Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Murilo Veloso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luís Fabiano Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorginho da Cunha having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
