After 2 played minutes Taguai FC got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Simão. In the 3rd minute, Luís Fernando Figueiredo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Veneza SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Luís Fernando Figueiredo got in the 6th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Norberto Quintal handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. When Giovani Peres came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Taguai FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giovani Peres couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Veneza SC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Allan Mandrak hit a great ball. Giovani Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisinho de Brito having to interfere. Norberto Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fernando Figueiredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Gonçalo Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fernando Figueiredo in the 27th minute of play forced Taguai FC's goalkeeper Norberto Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Norberto Quintal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vladimir Castro's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Veneza SC's Vladimir Castro got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Taguai FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Gonçalo Botelho hit a great ball. Dráusio Hoffmann hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José Nunes to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Taguai FC's Giovani Peres nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luisinho de Brito made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Luís Fernando Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 61st play minute Luís Fernando Figueiredo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Norberto Quintal. 1-2. Luisinho de Brito didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gonçalo Botelho went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. 72 minutes into the game, Vladimir Castro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Norberto Quintal. Vladimir Castro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. When Luís Fernando Figueiredo came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Veneza SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Fernando Figueiredo couldn't finish the play. If Manuel Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Veneza SC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
