With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mauro Queirós in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Artur Salgado saved APCV from getting behind. Artur Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. After 7 played minutes APCV got a freekick which was hit by Isaltino Vasconcelos. If Aloísio da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AC CEОРΙ's Mauro Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. AC CEОРΙ were furious when Vinícius Bastos was red carded, 16 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for AC CEОРΙ! The referee gave APCV a penalty, 18 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Duarte Loureiro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of AC CEОРΙ's Waldir Recife. 1-1. Waldir Recife made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Otávio Bastos in the 21st minute of play. Artur Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Queirós in the 24th minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, AC CEОРΙ's Cafu Kobra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Artur Salgado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, APCV's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Queirós came free, but Artur Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Filipe de Andrade during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to APCV getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Filipe de Andrade hit a great ball. David Cabral came free in the 34th minute and tried to tip the ball over Artur Salgado, but to the joy of APCV's supporters the ball went over. After having played for 39 minutes, Aloísio da Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AC CEОРΙ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aloísio da Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 45 played minutes AC CEОРΙ got a freekick which was hit by Ian Munhoz. APCV's Duarte Loureiro couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 46th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for AC CEОРΙ. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The supporters of AC CEОРΙ booed when APCV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaltino Vasconcelos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 53rd minute, Ian Munhoz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. APCV's Artur Salgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Queirós in the 56th minute of play. After some careless play in the APCV defense, Mauro Queirós kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Artur Salgado. The APCV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Artur Salgado should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in APCV's zone, Mauro Queirós stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artur Salgado came out of the goal and Mauro Queirós tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mauro Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Artur Salgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Artur Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Aloísio da Fonseca struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Artur Salgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AC CEОРΙ. In the 90th minute Mauro Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, AC CEОРΙ's David Cabral got a free kick in the 93rd minute. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind APCV's goalkeeper Artur Salgado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. There was no doubt that AC CEОРΙ were the better team. AC CEОРΙ's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
