Thomás Bezerra took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 3rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Téo Fernandez. J.A. 100's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Mário Matos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilian de Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilian de Souza in the 10th minute of play forced COLUMBUS CREW BR's goalkeeper Mário Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Téo Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Baiano in the 16th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Enrique Baiano in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Téo Fernandez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Marcinho Furlan managed to get in a good position for a shot. J.A. 100's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcinho Furlan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mário Matos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 23rd minute, Marcinho Furlan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The J.A. 100 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Téo Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Zanette, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. When Júlio Madureira fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored J.A. 100's protests and gave Júlio Madureira a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of COLUMBUS CREW BR booed when J.A. 100 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júlio Madureira didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Thomás Bezerra in the 28th minute really tested Téo Fernandez's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 29 minutes into the match, J.A. 100's goalkeeper Téo Fernandez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Celso Zanette. Marcinho Furlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Mário Matos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, COLUMBUS CREW BR's Dráusio Queiroz got a free kick in the 43rd minute. When J.A. 100's Wilian de Souza in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Mário Matos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcinho Furlan, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half J.A. 100 were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wilian de Souza was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Wilian de Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot. J.A. 100's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilian de Souza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mário Matos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcinho Furlan struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Mário Matos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for J.A. 100. If Enrique Baiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. During the 67th minute of the match Júlio Madureira completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Júlio Madureira a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 68 played minutes J.A. 100 got a freekick which was hit by Júlio Madureira. In the 72nd minute Celso Zanette shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Téo Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enrique Baiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 86 minutes had been played when some careless play by J.A. 100's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Horácio Mandrak was slow to take the kick. During this time COLUMBUS CREW BR's players had a chance to rest. In the 88th minute Celso Zanette shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Téo Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcinho Furlan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcinho Furlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Mário Matos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The J.A. 100 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing J.A. 100 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
