Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Hílton de Senna's late challenge caught a Paulino's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hílton de Senna helped the player get up and apologised. Hílton de Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Kiko de Lara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Virgílio Rosado scored 1-0 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Enrique Abreu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jefferson Ceresso was extremely unlucky when he, in the 71st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Hílton de Senna was shown his second yellow card after 78 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Enrique Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgílio Rosado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jefferson Ceresso in the 84th minute of play forced Paulino's goalkeeper Osvaldinho Paraense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute, Remo Paraibano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 92nd match minute, Paulino was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juarês Maia to maneuver through the defense.
