When João Vítor Pinho fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MENGÃOF.C.'s protests and gave João Vítor Pinho a yellow card for diving instead. Carlos Dante came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by SANTA LUZIA's Ivan Pepillo. But to his dismay, Ivan Pepillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After a rather tough play, SANTA LUZIA's Robinho Nogueira got a free kick in the 37th minute. 41 minutes into the match, MENGÃOF.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Faustão Pena came free, but Carlos Dante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Dante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Pepillo in the 42nd minute of the match. Rui Meireles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Vítor Pinho in the 44th minute of the match. Faustão Pena struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Carlos Dante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SANTA LUZIA. After the first half SANTA LUZIA were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivan Pepillo to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ivan Pepillo got free with Carlos Dante in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. During the 55th minute of the match João Vítor Pinho completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave João Vítor Pinho a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to MENGÃOF.C. getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. In the 77th minute, Faustão Pena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Faustão Pena did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-5 to the left of a surprised Carlos Dante 81 minutes into the match. Oséas Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Carlos Dante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patrick Castro charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patrick Castro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of MENGÃOF.C. booed when SANTA LUZIA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle sounded SANTA LUZIA left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than MENGÃOF.C..
